Weather permitting, the contractor is scheduled to begin construction activities on Monday, January 10, 2011. This project extends 3.7 miles on US 98 from south of Manor Drive to north of CR 540-A and US 98 from Manor Drive to Old Bartow/Eagle Lake Road.

What improvements will be made to US 98?
Answer:
Improvements to US 98 include widening US 98 from four to six lanes from south of Manor Drive to north of CR 540-A and US 98 from Manor Drive to Old Bartow/Eagle Lake Road, removal of old asphalt (milling), resurfacing the roadway, drainage improvements, street lighting, sidewalk construction, traffic signals and pavement markings.

Answer:
The project cost is approximately $11.1 million.

Will access to my property, business or home be blocked at any time during construction?
Answer:
The contractor will be required to maintain access to properties, businesses and homes at all times. If there are multiple entrances to access a property the contractor is allowed to close entrances as long as one entrance is maintained for access.
Question:
Will there be any lane closures during construction?
Answer:
Yes, it will be necessary to have lane closures at various times during construction. There will be no lane closures permitted between the hours of 6 a.m. and 8 p.m. No lane closures are permitted between the hours of 6 a.m. and 9 p.m. within 600 feet of a signalized intersection.

What if I have irrigation, landscaping, a mailbox or other items located in the right-of-way that will be impacted by construction?
Answer:
You will be contacted to remove the items located in the right-of-way prior to the start of construction in the area. However, if the items are not removed by the time allocated, the contractor is permitted to remove and dispose of items to proceed with schedule construction activities.

Answer:
The project is anticipated to be complete in fall 2012.
